Dr Ashley Ng

Diabetes Advocate, Researcher & Dietitian

Hi, I’m Ashley from Melbourne, Australia. In February 2009, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Since then, the classification of my diabetes has been a mystery that my endo has yet to solve. For now, it’s been labelled as type 1b diabetes, which is insulin deficiency with an unknown cause.

As a diabetes advocate, I have learned to sit back and listen to the community to better understand the challenges they face and things that work well in health service and diabetes education delivery. Together with my own lived experiences, this work has become my underlying motivation to pursue research, with a special interest in health education and program design and delivery, as well as consumer and community involvement and engagement.
