The start of my week included being in a room of Aussie diabetes bloggers and advocates talking about all things diabetes and playing with the Freestyle LibreLink app that will hit our app stores on the 5th of June. There’s been an excited buzz in the diabetes community with rumours of new pumps coming on the market. YpsoPump is one of the new kids on the block. Officially, the pump will be launched at the end of May. However, they have been doing the ninja. The accompanying mylife App was released on iTunes a few weeks ago and pump consumables are expected to be NDSS list some time this week. And of course a few people have been trialling it. Late Thursday night, I received a huge shock when a friend forwarded me this press release from Johnson and Johnson. The press released announced that Animas will exit the insulin pump market, effective immediately in the States and Canada. In the meantime, Animas selected Medtronic to help phase out Animas pumps.
